Social mobility in Andaluzia: from radicalism to institutionalism

Abstract

This study begins by showing the way in which, in the past, Andaluzian peasant mobilisation manifested the ignorance or rejection of the state and the anti-state radicalism that was so usual in the traditional agrarian societies' protests. It then concentrates on analysing the factors that caused the present institutionalisation of the conflicts and collective mobilisation in Andaluzia.
