The «intellectual history» developed by the Cambridge school (Pocock and Skinner) and the «conceptual history» (Begriffsgeschichte) mainly studied in Germany (Koselleck et al.) led to the recuperation and densification of the «republic» and contributed to the rebirth of «republicanism», not only in terms of the scientific paradigm in historical studies, but also in law and in political science (political philosophy). The objective of this article is to present neo-republicanism through a succinct summary of its most relevant authors and texts and, in this way, verify its reception in Portugal.
