This study aims to reflect on the theoretical significance of positivism, with regard to its relationship with demo-liberalism and marxism. The comtian social-philosophical system maintains with demo-liberalism the consequent approach of its technocratic-industrialist defence. However, it still shares with marxism a teleological, deterministic vision, denying, in the final analysis, individual and collective freedom of choice.
