Immigrants and the job market: the Portuguese situation

An analysis of ways of incorporating the active foreign population into the national job market is attempted in this article. Not only is the formal aspect considered but also the informal sector. Changes in the job market are analysed and particular reference is given to the employment of foreigners within the recent development of the Portuguese economy.
