Abstract

Gastronomic heritage is widely recognized as a differentiating element of territories and cultures, contributing to the affirmation of local cultural identities. This article develops a content analysis of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (lma) municipalities’ websites and of several publications in the domains of food, gastronomy, and wines, considering this registration by writing and imagery as a form of heritagization. The methodology used was documentary research and content analysis. The approach falls within the domain of the anthropology of food and is developed from the concepts of heritage, gastronomy, heritagization, and gourmetization.
