This text is a chapter from a longer work and deals with the establishment of the corporate order in 1933 which put an end to the regime of syndicalist freedom. After a brief summary of the new legal framework which was imposed by the National Work Statute and by Law n.° 23050, the author analyses the last days of free syndicalism and studies the opposition and the reception given to the new corporate order. Particular attention is given to the general assemblies of the class associations which were asked to deliver a decision on a powerful dilemma: the choice between joining the new order or being disbanded.
