Acute onset of Transient Left Bundle Branch Block during anesthesia is rare and may be related to hypertension or tachycardia. Although generally considered a benign condition its appearance may reveal an early phase of Ischemic Heart Disease or be indicative of Acute Coronary Syndrome.
We report a case of Transient Left Bundle Branch Block during perioperative period, with no association with hypertension or tachycardia in a 72 years old woman who underwent correction of multiple facial fractures in the context of urgency, under general anesthesia
We emphasize the importance of identifying probable atherosclerosis in an asymptomatic patient, which will enable further investigation and early intervention.
