Abstract

According to the present guidelines, transesophageal echocardiography  is indicated in major vascular surgery. The goal of this work is to know transesophageal echocardiography  impact in the diagnosis of surgical aorta pathology, in the guidance of anesthetic and surgical management and postoperative monitoring, for what were studied the following items: global clinical impact of transesophageal echocardiography  in non-cardiac surgery,  transesophageal echocardiography during perioperative of aorta’s aneurysms and dissections, endovascular repair of the aorta, traumatic injury of the aorta, of thromboembolic disease and vena cava cancer.
