Abstract

The interview with professor, researcher and artist Giselle Beiguelman took place on March 20, 2025 at the FIESP Cultural Center (Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo), in São Paulo, when an exhibition of hers was on display in one of its galleries: Poisonous, harmful and suspicious.

The conversation was structured in three moments and was conducted by Adriana Nascimento (DAUAP /PIPAUS/UFSJ) and Renata Macedo (Keppe and Pacheco Association). The first moment sought to address Giselle Beiguelman's personal trajectory, regarding her professional production, her academic and scientific work in relation to digital arts in urban space, in conjunction with the theme of this dossier: Digital media and urban studies: a methodological approach to co-transform space and society. We then talked about her work methods/methodology. To conclude, the political issue was addressed, a fundamental theme in her transversal approaches, as addressed in her latest book: Políticas da Imagem (2021).
