Equilíbrios no Terror: Trabalho forçado, fuga e Continuidades clandestinas no Congo-Brazzaville, 1918-1968

Com o fim do regime concessionário no Médio Congo francês (hoje Congo-Brazzaville) na década de 1920 – de maneira análoga a processos nas colónias portuguesas da África Austral – abriram-se portas para uma organização administrativa menos repressiva. Porém, este caminho não foi o escolhido. Até 1946, o território do Congo continuava a caracterizar-se por uma acumulação de diferentes tipos de trabalho forçado; depois das reformas de 1946, as lógicas do trabalho compulsório sobreviveram numa variante menos extensa, e continuavam mesmo depois da independência. O artigo analisa estes equilíbrios no terror, e as fortes reações das populações do oeste e do norte do território, que responderam à violência colonial com fugas e enfraqueceram assim os pilares do domínio europeu.References
