State Aid – introduction to the concept under article 107 of the TFEU and the current European context

Abstract

This study provides clues for the definition of the elements that underlie the concept of State aid in the legislative and jurisprudential Community context, in order to assist its interpretation by the agents involved in its concession. On the other hand, it reveals the importance of this public policy engine evolution of the use of these measures in the economic crisis period in Europe, so it is expected that the protection of competition on the Community market is, in this context, a greater challenge for institutions and Member States.
