Energy Union A sustainable energy space with one voice?
Keywords:
Energy; Networks; Electricity; Gas; Sustainable DevelopmentAbstract
The present paper leans over the materialisation of the European Union’s energy sustainability strategy in the Iberian Peninsula and accompanies the Portuguese and Spanish alignment with the different intermediate European programs until the 2050 year goal. The progresses and difficulties present in the energy reports concerning both Member-States will be briefly analised under the scope of the integration of the national plans onto the transeuropean energy networks and of the completion of the internal market. The conclusions will mirror their economic situation and reveal a positive, yet insufficient, bet on renewable energy sources and on their contribution towards the sustainable development of these countries’ economies and of the European Union.
