Abstract

Advance Directives Wills are instructions prepared in advance regarding medical treatments that a person intends to accept or decline, if they ever became unable to express and carry out their own decisions.
The present work aims to define the framework of principles and their conditions and limitations, especially the figure of attorney for health care.
We will follow the debate and legal procedure of approval of the Portuguese Law n. 25/2012, of the 16th july.
