Body practices in rehabilitation alcohol and drugs users: a lifestyle setting

Resumo

The aim of the study was to identify and analyse the body practices by alcohol and drugs addicted that are in social rehabilitation process at Centros de Atenção Psicossocial álcool e drogas (CAPS ad) in order to understand the influence of these practices in their lifestyle. This study used the methodological plurality as research design, involving 76 alcohol and / or drugs addicted attending the CAPS ad in Recife/Pernambuco, Brazil. It was used a semi-structured interview and observation script, which were appreciated by content analysis. The results showed that the body practices offered by the CAPS ad, as part of the rehabilitation process, do assist in the treatment offering changes in lifestyle. The subjects believe that these practices help in the withdrawal process as well as in searching for a healthier and social lifestyle.
