La centralité du travail et l’augmentation de la longévité contribuent à conférer à la retraite une importance significative dans le quotidien des individus. Cet article aborde le rapport à la retraite à partir d’une étude qualitative basée sur des entretiens biographiques. Les résultats montrent que l’hétérogénéité des parcours de vie influence la façon dont les individus voient la retraite. Malgré la diversité individuelle de la question, l’article présente quatre profils-types, construits à partir de dimensions analytiques, à savoir: relationnel, réservé, conditionné, et instrumental.
