Implementation of yield management as a revenue-increasing tool: Case study

Resumo

O objectivo deste documento é implementar a utilização de 'yield management' numa pequena estrutura hoteleira, a fim de maximizar as receitas. Actualmente, a maioria das investigações em gestão de rendimentos propõe fórmulas ou formulação geral do problema e, assim, os gestores enfrentam dificuldades na sua aplicação prática. Este estudo aborda o problema de uma perspectiva diferente e oferece cálculos práticos e guia para gestores hoteleiros que podem ser facilmente adoptados na prática. O objectivo parcial é através da utilização desta implementação prática persuadir os gestores hoteleiros e financeiros a aplicar a gestão do rendimento com base na fórmula que é construída no artigo. Os resultados mostraram que a implementação da gestão do rendimento é benéfica mesmo para os pequenos hotéis e pode aumentar as receitas anuais. Este estudo de caso deve aumentar a sensibilização na gestão hoteleira e oferecer um impulso para considerar as mudanças nos preços para aumentar a sustentabilidade económica futura em hotéis de pequena dimensão.
