Abstract

The modeling of growth and development of processing broccoli, according to the temperature sum, is an important tool for the estimation of phenological phases and harvesting time, allowing better positioning of phytosanitary treatments in the fight of the key enemies of the crop. Was installed in Almeirim, in Tagus Valley region, from September 2016 to January 2017, a trial to evaluate the effect of temperature on development and growth of the broccoli processing using the temperatures sum. Were considered four sowing dates (D1-7/9, D2-16/9, D3-26/9 and D4-1/10). It was observed the number of leaves, the diameter of the inflorescence, green and dry weight of leaves, stem and inflorescence in 8 plants randomly collected in each treatment.

Were necessary about 60 days and a temperature of 700-800ºC, at temperature average between 10°C and 24°C, to give early development of the inflorescence. To achieve the desired diameter harvesting were needed approximately 90 days and a sum of about 950 °C.
