The talent management challenge in the context of the ongoing digital transformation - an analysis of companies in Alentejo

The digital transformation is putting pressure on organizations to introduce new technologies into the business, changing business models and organizational culture, as well as adapting their workers. With the virtualization of processes, there is a need for new requirements for people profiles, with qualifications, knowledge and skills.
This work research the challenge of managing the talent on organisation in the face of digital transformation, trying to understand how companies detect, attract, retain and train their employees.
A case study of two companies in Évora was carried out. Interviews were carried out with a talent specialist and with the heads of Human Resources from two companies.
The highlights: company X, with gaps in the context of digital transformation, is at an embryonic stage in terms of talent management. On the other hand, the company Lobosolar, which follows the digital transformation, has managed to manage its talent.
