In this article two of the main trades of Ahl al-Kitãb, captives and wheat exportations, on the geographical space of west Mediterranean, are studied in their inter-confessional dimension. Maghreb’s jews established bridges between christians and muslims in order to avoid the obstacles created by the Christian kingdoms from the north shore of mare nostrum to a normal development of the Maghreb’s regencies and Moroccan Empire commercial navies, which inexistence could block their internal production and commercial relations with European countries.
