Um pouco de historiografia: a representação do passado colonial brasileiro a partir da independência

Abstract

The subject of this historiographic essay is to weave considerations on the repercussion of the discourse produced by the elites who promoted political independence in 1822 in Brazilian historiography. The work was guided by the possibility that a major part of the historiography reproduced that discourse acritically and incorporated it as an historical fact that not only explained independence but also the colonial past. Although cursorily, the essay also examines this process of historiographic construction.
