This study is based on an academic work about clothing complements from archaeological excavation in Praça Luis de Camões in Lisbon, which focused on beads, buckles and buttons on this site. The bead's collection has been, in part, the subject of a study by Conception Rodrigues. But the scope of this work is broader, covering all beads of modern archeological context, so as to provide a comprehensive analysis of development typological and the underlying social context of its use, which was over diverse history of the building. The subject of beads seems to cover a very wide area and we believe can give new perspectives on their use and meaning.
