White, black or mestizos, free, liberated or slaves, these are the main characters of a memory made out of contrasting experiences in which the historical subjects, anonymous or identifiable, are, in any case, real men sharing spaces, activities, feelings, emotions, who have experienced a collective way of life that left, everywhere, the trace of its presence. In this study, through a diversified documental recollection, we searched to unveil traces of every day’s life of these social agents and to read History not through the attitudes of elites, but through pulsing, shared interests and tensions of such human experience, so frequently forgotten, as it is the slave and his descendency.
