The study of monastic libraries within Portuguese presence in Asia is an important field of study for the history of book, and mainly in what concerns the presence of Portuguese and European culture in Asia and the interaction with native cultures. This essay studies the contents of two monastic libraries in Goa – Santo António de Tana and Santa Cruz dos Milagres – in the 18th century .
