The main purpose of this paper is to contribute for a better understanding of Timor Lorosa’e cultural heritage that can be found in Portugal through several kinds of materials which were entrusted to the Centre for Prehistory and Archaeology of the Tropical Research Institute. It regards a collection of objects which includes several ethnographic and archaeological items assembled in East Timor from 1930 to c. 1960 as well as photographs taken between 1953 and 1954. The inventory of these objects as well as its organisation in a database system allow us to have an outlook on works that have been developed in Timor regarding archaeology and prehistory. It will also provide us with the possibility to present other works in specific areas of historical and cultural patrimony that can be developed from this collection.
