Abstract

In 1966, the “Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution” happened in Macao and since then and until the last tenuous Portuguese Administration in 1999, Portugal had essentially to acquiesce to Nam Kwong Trading Company and directly to the Communist Party of China. This is called an asymmetrical rapport between Mainland China and Portugal over Macao.
