The place of school work - between work and leisure?

Abstract

This article investigates some of the arguments concerning the relationship between school and work and assesses them against the backdrop of the specific nature of how modernity has been constructed in the Portuguese school system. We conclude by arguing that currently it is increasingly relevant for learners to understand what it means to learn to work.
