Abstract

Based on the underlying principles of how opinions are produced in the media, this study examines how the Público newspaper, throughout 2001, generated social self-comparisons and social reflexivity in connection with its dissemination of school rankings and shows how these processes were strongly affected by the effects of agenda-setting.
