Issue 21 of the journal Cadernos de Estudos Africanos brings together a selection of articles from different disciplinary perspectives. The contributions address issues such as the visual representations and patterns in objects associated with the Ifá of Isale-Oyo, the purification rituals performed by traditional doctors in southern Mozambique on veterans of the civil war, and the historical analysis of relations between the Bahutu and the Batutsi in Rwanda. Other studies delve into dual political legitimacy in the Namibian context, the experience of Cape Verdean workers living in Portugal during April 25, the state of health of the population on the island of Mozambique and, finally, novelist Ayi Kwei Armah's call for a renewal of African educational philosophy. This issue offers a broad and interdisciplinary view of the cultural, historical and socio-political dynamics that mark the African continent.
