Submission Instructions
To submit an article to this journal, authors must follow the steps below:
- Register as an Author
Before submitting a manuscript, authors must create an account on the journal platform by clicking on Register and completing all required registration fields. - Validate Account Activation Link
After registering, authors will receive an activation email at the address provided during registration.
To activate the account, click on the activation link included in the email. - Login to the Platform
Once the account has been activated, log in to the journal platform using your credentials. - Choose the Type of Submission
When starting a new submission, authors must select the appropriate section for their manuscript: - Thematic Issue
A thematic issue is a special edition of the journal dedicated to a specific topic, theme, or research area. Thematic issues may be organized either through an open call for papers or by invitation. Authors whose manuscripts correspond to a thematic issue should submit their work under this section. - Varia
The Varia section is intended for standalone articles that are not associated with a thematic issue. Authors may submit their manuscripts at any time under the journal’s continuous publication model. - Complete the Submission Form
After selecting the appropriate section, authors must complete all stages of the online submission form, including uploading the manuscript, providing metadata, and confirming compliance with the journal’s guidelines.
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
✅ The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
✅ The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
✅ Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
✅ The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
✅ The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
For Authors
Full compliance with the provisions of the style book and code of ethics is a condition for publication of the article.
Articles can be submitted to the email epublica@fd.ul.pt.
There are no fees for authors to publish their work.
After submission, the article will be subject to a “double blind peer review” system. This ensures impartial evaluation. Both reviewers and authors remain anonymous, mitigating potential biases and promoting fair assessment solely based on the quality of the submitted work. In due time, you will receive the result of the evaluation of the submitted article.
All published articles must include the author’s institutional affiliation and ORCID identifier.
According to the open access policy, articles are published under a CC BY 4.0 licence (Creative Commons https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). The articles are fully open-access. Authors retain copyright and may deposit any version of their work in a repository.
The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
