Action Research: Possibilities in an Educational Context

Abstract

This paper aims at showing the power of action research through collaboration in the construction of pedagogical practice in the regular school setting in order to ensure learning for students with intellectual disabilities and global developmental disorders enrolled in the literacy cycle of a state network school in Espírito Santo, Brazil. In face of this, through collaborative critical action research, actions have been thought, planned and put into practice so as education of students with disabilities can be granted. For this purpose, pedagogical practice has taken a central role if we think of processes of mediation of knowledge to target-students of special education as well. Action research allows moving along the school and the professionals in order to create new/other teaching logic as a means to ensure and perform inclusive movements in regular schools.
