This paper presents the results of a systematic mapping of the literature (PETERSEN et al., 2008) that identified scientific documents written in Portuguese and related to the theme of gamification (BUSARELLO, 2016; ALVES, 2015 , DETERDING et al., 2011) and the teaching training linked to Literature and Education courses. For this, we defined search strings, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and mapped scientific documents to three major digital repositories: Open Access Scientific Repositories in Portugal (RCAAP), Digital Bank of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD – Brazil), SciELO – Brazil (Scientific Electronic Library Online). The results show a small number of documents that emerged in the last five years (2018-2022), dealing with the theme of gamification in teacher training in the context of undergraduate courses in Literature and Education. Due to the small amount of documentation in the repository, we found that there is still a lot of room for research that analyzes the possibilities and limitations of gamification in the context of teacher education. In addition, in the above context, we conclude that there is a wide field of experimentation on ways of teaching and learning, and on the adaptation of virtual teaching-learning environments for the gamification of didactic-pedagogical practices in teacher training.
