The influence of physical activity in body perception
The aim of this study was to assess the influence of physical activity in body image satisfaction by sex. The sample was composed by 839 subjects with 28.97 (± 9.85) years old. Mann-Whitney and Spearmen tests allowed to assess the groups comparison and association, respectively. The sedentary subjects presented lower levels of body image satisfaction (3.35) in comparison with actives (3.62) and sportsmen (3.75). The body image satisfaction presented association with body weight satisfaction (rs > 0.237; p< 0.17). This study allowed to conclude that the physical activity seem to positively influence body image satisfaction.
