Authors
Welcome!
Before registering and submitting your article, please consider RER’s Editorial Policies and check the Instructions for Authors NEW!.
To help you submit your article, RER provides a Checklist of Documents to be Submitted NEW! listing the documents and explaining the procedures required for submission.
The average delay in the publishing process (from submission to publication) is a significant challenge for RER’s Editorial Board. So, remember that if your article submission does not comply with the Checklist of Documents to be Submitted, your article will be excluded from the publishing process.
RER meets the criteria of an international, open-access, peer-reviewed online journal. The authors’ interest in publishing high-quality scientific articles honors RER. Thus, it ensures that its revision processes comply with the scientific and ethical principles of scientific publishing and dissemination. Authors are responsible for the content of their articles and must comply with RER’s ethical research principles and guidelines. Authors of articles published in RER assign copyright to the journal.
RER follows the guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA 7th edition, 2020) and complies with the rules of the new spelling agreement. Thus, the Editor-in-chief can change Brazilian Portuguese terms into European Portuguese. The articles are organized based on the APA guidelines and the Critical Analysis Topics for original research articles, systematic review and scoping review articles, historical research articles, and theoretical articles/essays. Systematic reviews must comply with the requirements of evidence synthesis recommended by internationally recognized institutions, such as the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) and Cochrane. A limited number of theoretical articles/essays and systematic reviews is published per issue. The Editor-in-Chief can decide to publish other types of articles, such as theoretical reviews, biographies, and systematic review protocols.
Depending on the study design, the articles must comply with the international EQUATOR (Enhancing the QUAlity and Transparency Of health Research) Network guidelines as follows: CONSORT for randomized controlled trials; STROBE for observational studies; COREQ for qualitative studies; and PRISMA for systematic reviews.
In addition to the Critical Analysis Topics made available, the authors must access and fill in the following RER templates: Manuscript (Article) NEW!; Title Page NEW!; Authorship Responsibility Statement NEW!; and Cover Letter NEW!.
The Health Sciences Research Unit: Nursing supports the World Health Organization (WHO) clinical trial policies and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). The authors of clinical trial articles should preferably complete the registration procedure available at http://www.who.int/ictrp/en/.
Authors can submit articles written in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. RER is bilingual, so the articles are translated into English or Portuguese if accepted for publication. There are no Article Processing Charges (APC) and/or Submission Charges. Authors agree to pay for the translation service of the article once it has been accepted for publication. The translation costs 15 euros per page, including the abstracts and references pages.
