Abstract

Introduction: The implementation of postural education programs in schools for children and adolescents has increased in recent decades as a strategy to promote musculoskeletal health. However, data on evidence of postural education programs in schools specifically for pre-adolescents are scattered in the literature.

Objective: To map the evidence related to the implementation of postural education programs in schools for pre-adolescents.

Methods: This review will follow the JBI recommendations and will report its findings using PRISMA-ScR. Using the PCC mnemonic, this review will include primary and secondary studies that address pre-adolescents (P); postural education programs (C); and schools (C). Two independent reviewers will perform the search strategy, article extraction, analysis and data synthesis. The sources of information will be searched via Scopus, SciELO and EBSCOhost in CINAHL® Plus; in the Nursing & Allied Health Collection: Comprehensive Edition; in the Cochrane Plus Collection; in MedicLatina(tm) and in MEDLINE®, via PubMed. The search for unpublished studies will include OpenGrey and RCCAP. The languages of the studies will be limited to English, Portuguese and Spanish.

It is expected that the result of the review resulting from this protocol will gather pertinent information that will serve as a basis for the construction of postural education programs to be implemented in schools for the pre-adolescent population.
