Abstract

The valorization of the human being, regardless of his age, imposes the congregation of resources and knowledge that aims at an experience and a prosperous quality of life. This paper describes the first stage of an ongoing project that combines organic farming and social and therapeutic agriculture to promote positive interactions that will enhance elderly's life quality. This study, in a senior residence, is part of the internship of the course of Agronomy, of the Agrarian School of Santarém and intends to anticipate obstacles and difficulties in the planned stages and procedures, both in the agricultural conversion process and in the sensibilization of the all community to increase their health and well-being. In the final phase, it is intended to disseminate a set of good multifunctional agricultural practices in elderly care organizations or others that promote social entrepreneurship and social and therapeutic agriculture.
