The reconstitution of Pedro Cadena de Vilhasanti’s carrier during the dynastic union of the crowns of Portugal and Castile, proposed in this paper, leaves us to reconsider the historiographic problem of the Portuguese America within the Dynastic Union, far away of the traditional image of the Portuguese America’s government during this time as of the national lecture which has been given. In fact, the carrier of this Luso-Brazilian offers a much more complex reality of Brazil within the Dynastic Union, inviting us to consider the two rives of the Atlantic with a different look. Renewing the approach of this period, this study enables to resume and develop its problematique.
