The United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation of 2019 (“Singapore Convention”), by establishing a uniform legal framework for the enforcement of mediation agreements, represents a relevant advancement in the adequate resolution of international commercial disputes. In the Brazilian context, the signing of the Singapore Convention reflects a commitment to the consensual resolution of conflicts, providing greater legal certainty and having the potential to attract foreign investment. Thus, the Singapore Convention may inaugurate a new era for international mediation, promoting a cooperative, efficient, and secure environment for the development of global economic relations.
