República e idealismo: o projecto de Constituição de Fernão Botto Machado e a Constituição Política de 1911
Résumé
A mudança de regímen político trazida pela revolução republicana de 5 de Outubro de 1910 postulou, naturalmente, a modificação do subjacente quadro jurídico-constitucional. Em Agosto de 1911, foi aprovada uma nova Constituição, mas não podemos esquecer os vários projectos que, por essa ocasião, viram a luz do dia, apresentados por autores das mais diversas tendências político-ideológicas. Um deles coube a Fernão Botto Machado, distinto solicitador em Lisboa. Ao longo do presente estudo, tentaremos evidenciar as mais frisantes particularidades do seu texto, por comparação com a versão final da Constituição de 1911, buscando, dessarte, demonstrar o cunho original do projecto concebido por aquele ilustre vulto da Primeira República.
