Game Design of “Treat Well!” and “Fables Maker”: Serious Game Development and Testing

Abstract

Due to their ludic nature, serious games have been increasingly used in teaching subjects and training new skills. This case study analyzes the creation of two serious games (Fables Maker and Trate Bem!), bringing to light the importance of a based conduction of the entire development process and  the importance of playtesting the game with the target audience to ensure its efficiency and its improvement. Therefore, the pre-production, production and validation processes of these games are further described and discussed.
