Objective
Understand how nurses in primary and hospital care, position themselves in the face of adversity and challenges of their identity.
Methods
Qualitative research, based on Ego-ecology of Zavalloni theory. It was applying a Psychosocial Identity Inventory and interviews to six nurses, with a non-probabilistic sample by networks.
Results
Nurses are subject to specific risks, but also the very same risks either objective conditions (salary, poor physical conditions, workload) or psychosocial risks (disorganization, dependency, poor team relationship, nature of care, no social recognition), mainly for psychosocial risks.
Conclusion
There was a slight difference in the professional identity in these work contexts that relates to the view of the nature of care with very similar risks and demotivation. However, the aspects identified as negatives can be corrected and becoming sources of professional challenge.
