Introduction: Threatened preterm birth is a worrying clinical condition due to the increased risk of neonatal morbidity and mortality, so it is crucial to identify the warning signs early and minimise complications. This case report concerns a pregnant woman at 24 weeks and 6 days with threatened preterm labour.
Objective: To draw up a proposal for a nursing care plan focusing on the factors that trigger the threat of preterm birth.
Methods: Data was collected by interview and then analyzed according to Nancy Roper's model.
Results: Four nursing diagnoses were identified with changes in the needs identified.
Conclusion: The nurse's role is fundamental in surveillance, health promotion and non-pharmacological strategies for relieving pain, anxiety and tension, which are factors associated with the threat of preterm labour.
