Efectos de la musicoterapia en pacientes ingressados en unidades de cuidados intensivos
una revisión exhaustiva

Introducción: La hospitalización, especialmente en las unidades de cuidados intensivos, puede ser una experiencia que produzca ansiedad a muchos pacientes. En este contexto, la aplicación de terapias complementarias no farmacológicas, como la musicoterapia, es relevante para minimizar los impactos negativos de este entorno hospitalario.
Objetivo/s: Identificar las pruebas disponibles sobre los efectos de la musicoterapia en pacientes hospitalizados en unidades de cuidados intensivos.
Métodos: Se trata de una revisión de alcance, en la que se utilizaron las bases de datos PubMed, CINAHL complete, Scopus y ScienceDirect. Se utilizó el método booleano basado en referencias cruzadas de los descriptores: musicoterapia, unidad de cuidados intensivos, cuidados de enfermería y adultos. Se adoptó el método PCC, aplicando criterios de inclusión y exclusión.
Resultados: Se incluyeron siete artículos que indicaban que la musicoterapia tiene efectos positivos en los pacientes hospitalizados, lo que apunta a beneficios en el tratamiento clínico.
Conclusión: Además de ser un tratamiento de bajo coste, la musicoterapia es fácil de aplicar, ayuda a crear un entorno terapéutico favorable a la recuperación de los pacientes críticos e influye positivamente en los niveles de satisfacción de los pacientes.
