The multiple benefits of digital technologies for human development make digital inclusion a necessity in contemporary society. In this paper we present an exploratory study on Digital Inclusion, having as an empirical reference the research on the digital skills of low qualified and unemployed adults who attend double certification professional training actions, based on the reinforcement of digital literacy and digital competences, essential for the exercise of a more active and participatory citizenship, which allows them to be socially included. The research had a qualitative methodological perspective supported by documentary analysis, the diagnostic questionnaire and the focus group.
The results show that the effective use of digital technologies is below its potential, reinforcing the idea that digital inclusion is more than the mere use of these tools and emphasizing the importance of digital literacy for an efficient appropriation and mobilization of digital technologies in autonomously and responsibly.
