O The right to education
Abstract
This article aims to analyze the right to education. The right to education is part of a set of rights called social rights, which are inspired by the value of equality between people. In Brazil this right was only recognized in the Federal Constitution of 1988, before that the State had no formal obligation to guarantee quality education to all Brazilians, public education was treated as an assistance, an amparo given to those who could not afford. Within the list of fundamental human rights is the right to education, supported by national and international norms. It is a fundamental right because it includes a process of individual development proper to the human condition.
