Abstract

MOOCs have transformed the teaching and learning processes since its irruption in 2012 (Conole, 2013), which has meant a change in the figure of the teacher and the process of tutoring. The article addresses the role that the teacher should play based on reflections and experience of Universidad Panamericana with the first MOOC “How to Structure and Write an Academic Report”, it also considers the techniques used as best practice for tutoring and retain students using success stories, such as the follow-up and attention provided to a group of participants belonging to the National Civil Police of Guatemala.
