Abstract

The objective of this work was to report a new stage that is taking place in Geography education, associated to the use of new digital technologies, as perceived in the current literature. This situation characterizes a condition where teachers and students walk side by side towards knowledge access. For many teachers in Brazil, computer tools are still a little known option of work, that causes fear and distance; for the pupils, that are contemporaries of computer applications, such new options do not constitute mysteries and dreads. Therefore, it is the education sector responsibility to create the suitable conditions so that teachers and students benefit from the new technologies to foster education and learning.
