MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) are tools for acquiring knowledge and qualifications that, given their technological nature and presence in the World Wide Web, are made available to anyone so they can learn virtually about any topic or theme. These courses are prepared so its participants, regardless of their geographical localization, have the opportunity of contributing to the online community of the respective MOOC as well as benefit from its educational content.
This era of learning and globalization of information allows the existence of courses like MOOC and further stimulates the proliferation of communities that create new courses and lecture topics in multiple languages, in different ways, so that everyone is able to learn in the best way possible.
To demonstrate this perspective a MOOC project was elaborated: XML For Everyone, with the purpose of exploring the MOOC concept and the features of the e-learning platform e-Raízes.Redes (eRR) of IPSantarém.
