Canyoning has associated with itself, the risk factor, since its objective is to follow a water line, overcoming several obstacles such as waterfalls and it uses progression techniques. This study aims to identify the perception of risks and the incidence of injuries among monitors and practitioners nationwide and understand if there are differences between them. The sample has 93 male and female participants between 18 and 62 years old, associated with the practice of canyoning. The instrument was a questionnaire adapted to Googleforms, enabling divulgation to federations and companies. The main results indicated that monitors have a greater perception of the prevention of accidents (p=0.01) and injuries (p=0.01). The perception of risk in the Human Dimension (Technicians) revealed significant differences (p=0.01) between groups. It is also important to highlight the technician experience's importance in training and knowledge about the activity and the risks, which leads to safe canyoning practices, both for the technician and the practitioner. Regarding the incidence of injuries, this was identical for the groups under study, with the same number of technicians (N=19) and practitioners (N=19) affirming that already had suffered injuries, essentially in the fingers (N=25; N=27). In this way, the importance of experience and professional training of technicians allows them to have a better understanding of control and prevention, by demonstrating the relevance of ensuring risk factors for the development of the activity.
