Recent Education research has highlighted how children’s literature can contribute to the childhood development and learning. This reality suggests the need to think about an instrument that evaluates the kindergartner’s perception about children’s literature. In the present article, the validation process of a Perception’s Questionnaire about Children’s Literature (PQCL) is presented. The questionnaire was applied to 270 kindergartners in Portugal, 99% the respondents are female with a mean age of 43 years. The answers to the questionnaire after being submitted to various validation procedures, described in this article, became to a structure composed of two dimensions: A first about the kindergartner’ perception of personal competence in the use of the children's literature and a second dimension on the kindergartner' perception of the potentials of the children’s literature. Specifically, the first dimension presents a good internal consistency index (α = .918) as well as the second dimension (α = .967). The questionnaire is useful and suitable for use in future research, it will give us the way to regarding the kindergartner’ perceptions about children’s literature potential
