El Encuentro Cultural entre Medicina y Arte en la Anatomía:

Una Propuesta Educativa Integradora

Abstract

This study elaborates a theoretical framework on the interactions and mutual influences between culture (art) and science (medicine), to develop an educational proposal with interdisciplinary integration between art and medicine through specific resources and contents on history of science and history of art, which emphasize the cultural dimension of science as an element to motivate and attract students. The theoretical framework draws from the naturalistic twist in the characterization of science and from the studies on the nature of science, which advocate the social dimension of science, justify the elaboration of the relationships between science and society and propose the cultural, social and history aspects of science for science education. In addition, the current trends towards the integration of scientific and humanistic contents in science education are taken into account, especially in regard to art and medicine. The study also offers a set of artistic works and various contents of history of science and art on human anatomy, as didactic resources for teaching. A teaching proposal on the interdisciplinary integration between art and anatomy is elaborated, through the selection and infusion of the resources adapted to the students. The potential achievements of the proposal to contribute to scientific literacy for all and to the innovative development of the cultural dimension of science from the artistic culture and history of science are discussed.
